Dilettante

I once wrote in a graduation year book that I wanted to be a dilettante when I grow up. Well I guess I must have finally grown up because I'm now living my life's ambition. I dabble in things. I follow my interests wherever they lead, living curious - taking pictures, writing stuff,  fuchsia growing, 1/12 miniatures design, history, volcanoes, geography, nature, triathlon training, pilates, sailing, discovering and collecting art, as well as creating it in whatever media has my attention at the time, from fabric art to polymer clay.

This blog was created in July 2011 when we moved from Asia, where we had been living for 4 years, to Vancouver Island. From a high rise condo in the middle of a city of 15 million we moved to a town of 8500, to a ranch house down the road from 55 acres of preserved old growth forest and 5 blocks from the beach. Once upon a time I explored Asia, now I explore being grounded in a new geography.
